Rollie and I went to the traps had one muskrat bought 4 muskrats of Devillo for .08 cents.  Ran Pa 100 bullets for .08 Cents.

Went to school drove.


(Aged 17)
Wea.                                             THU. OCT. 12, 1899               Ther.

Burnes took the freight through to Oil City his home.  I went up and saw Ray Lawson and we are going to W. Va I think after a little while.  Got a job in Crandall’s Basket Factory at $1.25 per day am to being work tomorrow.  Got board over a drug store for $3.50 a week.

Went to school with Gordon.  In eve met Alice at the train and we took a ride.  Got home about 10.30.

Alice + Pearle went home.  Chas. husked 14 bu. Will and I drew in 3 load of corn.

Alice + I went over to see Dr. Rich.  In P.M. Ma, Pa + Rollie came over.

Pearle + Rob went home.  Sold the meat market to EM Vanderwark.

Editor's Note:  Crandall's was a big business in Brocton in both making the baskets for and the shipping of the grapes.  Allen seems to have landed on his feet.  Mexico? Who said anything about Mexico?
