Editor's Note:  From Allen's wording in 1899 I am uncertain if all those boys had the surname Washburg or just Thed who likely hailed from Ellery.  But I am certain that Lawrence Washburg was well known to Allen and lived in Carroll too.  He was about Allen's age and married Allen's cousin Luella Eccles as his second wife sometime between the 1920 and 1930 census takings.

I'm still working on the mysterious Luella.  I realized today that she was a step-mother so someone out there may have known her.

  1. Lawrence Washburg is my great-great grandfather's brother. Theodore and Alvin are his 1st cousins, but they spelled their name "Wasberg."

Lawrence was married to Luella Springer, daughter of Mary Cass.

I am also related to the Cass family through the Woodward family.
