A Day in the Life: October 9th


(Aged 14)
Wea.                                            FRI. OCT. 9, 1896               Ther. 

Rode my wheel to school.


(Aged 16)
Wea.                                            SUN. OCT. 9, 1898               Ther.

Went to factory then stayed at home all day.  Pa + Ma got home about 6 P.M.

 
(Aged 17)
Wea.                                             MON. OCT. 9, 1899               Ther.

Settled up with Frank McGregor.  Met Burnes at Brocton and left on the 1.18 P.M. train.  Arrived at Buffalo at 3 oclock. Got a telescope and transferred my cloths from the box into it and expressed it to Jersey City.  Burnes expressed his also.  Stayed all night in Buffalo at the Hotel Arlington.  Sold my wheel to Frank McGregor for $8.  We have started for Mexico at last.  Good By to old friends + home.

Wea.                                              TUE. OCT. 9, 1900                 Ther.

Went to school with Gordon.  In eve studied.  Chas. Wheeler brought my new suit down.

Wea.                                              WED. OCT. 9, 1901                Ther.

Went to town and got some barbed wire.  Was sick from thrashing so the boys had to milk alone.  Chas. and Will drew in corn.


(Aged 20)
Wea.                                               THU.  OCT. 9, 1902             Ther.

Ma + Alice went to a dinner at the burg.  I moved Kineston’s woodmill up. 


(Aged 21)

Wea.                                              FRI.  OCT. 9, 1903                  Ther.


NO ENTRY AGAIN UNTIL OCTOBER 10th.

Editor's Note:
OMG I did not see Mexico coming.   It would seem a great deal of planning, dreaming and scheming was transpiring while the journal was left blank.  I don't know Burnes but the boys are headed to Mexico.  So much for the pleading letters from Aunt Mary and Luella.
