 Went to school.

Went to factory.  In P.M. Pa + I went hunting.


(Aged 17)
Wea.                                           FRI. MAY 26, 1899               Ther.

Rode my wheel to school.  Wrote to Mable White and Elmer Warn.  In eve Leon Page, Frank Warn + I went out riding on our wheels.

Wea.                                           SAT. MAY 26, 1900                 Ther.

Painted on barn in A.M. In P.M. played ball up on Joel Harrington’s.  In eve Irma + Alton Bunce and Ruth Davis of Olean were here had a fine time.  I went home with Irma.  Got home at 12.15.

Frank went to factory.  Stayed at home all day.



(Aged 20)
Wea.                                             MON.  MAY 26, 1902             Ther.

Drew 3 loads of manure in A.M.  In P.M. dragged + pulled wild mustard.  In eve burned out some worms’ nest.  Very cold + rainy.

Editor's Note:  Nettie Harrington was Joel's wife and the two couples seem to have been lifelong friends.  If Frank was "lonesome" in his 40s when he wrote the poem in the earlier post, I think Joel may have been more so because he lived to his 100th year.
