A Day in the Life: April 30th


(Aged 14)
Wea. Hot                                     THU. APRIL 30, 1896               Ther. 69

Went to school.  Aunt Em + Blaine was up.  Ma + Aunt Em went over to see the doctor he said Aunt Em’s heart was very bad.


The price of bad news.


(Aged 16)
Wea. Sunny                                 SAT. APRIL 30, 1898               Ther.

Ma + Grandma + Rollie went to Jamestown.  I went hunting didn’t kill anything rode my wheel quite a little.  Have rode 100 miles this year.  In eve went to the burg to an entertainment.


(Aged 17)
Wea.                                             SUN. APRIL 30, 1899               Ther.

Pa, Ma, Rollie+ I all went to church in the double buggy.  In P.M. went over to grandma’s on my wheel.


(Aged 18)
Wea.                                              MON. APRIL 30, 1900                 Ther.

Painted on the house went to the factory.  Frank Warn was down stayed all night.

Wea.                                              TUE. APRIL 30, 1901                Ther.

NO ENTRY AGAIN UNTIL MAY 22nd


(Aged 20)
Wea.                                               WED.  APRIL 30, 1902             Ther.

Finished ditch + cut wood + fence posts.

Wea.                                              THU.  APRIL 30, 1903                  Ther.

NO ENTRY MADE AGAIN UNTIL MAY 1st

Editor's Note: I can't believe we have this check.  It is rather morbid.  Frank either paid money he owed to his sister-in-law Emma or he loaned her the money to pay Dr. Rich.  In turn, the check was signed over two more times perhaps paying off everyone's various creditors.
