Going to Falconer to "catch on some girls"
A Day in the Life: April 25th
(Aged 14)
Wea. Rainy SAT. APRIL 25, 1896 Ther. 60
Went up to Andrew Warn’s after some oats when I got home went fishing. In the evening Roland Anderson + I went fishing. We did not catch anything. Stayed all night with grandma.

Wea. MON. APRIL 25, 1898 Ther.
Went to school. After school went to Falconer + got my front forks to my bicycle. They cost
$2.25. In eve put my wheel together.
(Aged 17)
Wea. TUE. APRIL 25, 1899 Ther.
Rode my wheel to school. Played football. Wrote a letter to Mabel White and one to Verna White. In eve went over to Page's on my wheel and Leon came back part way with me. We are going up to Falconer some Sunday + catch on some girls. He goes with one up there now her name is Bertha Cady.

Painted on the house. Ma + Grandma went to the burg. I took a picture of grandma. It is a good one.

Went to factory + dragged about 2 acres in A.M. In P.M. drilled in 4 acres of oats. Alice, Ma + Grandma went to the burg.

NO ENTRY MADE AGAIN UNTIL MAY 1st
Editor's Note: Who knew Falconer was the place to pick up girls? Bertha Cady lived in Jamestown Ward 5 in 1900. She was 17 years old and lived with her widowed father and grandmother so she was 16 when she dated Leon. They don't marry though. I find Leon married a younger woman named Hattie and they had at least one daughter.
