A Day in the Life: June 29th

Wea. fine                                    MON. JUNE 29, 1896               Ther. 

Worked all day.


(Aged 16)
Wea.                                            WED. JUNE 29, 1898               Ther.

Went to factory.  When I got back a fellow broke his tire + stopped for me to fix them.  He gave me half a dollar for that + his dinner.  In eve went up to Sons + Daughters.



(Aged 17)
Wea.                                             THU. JUNE 29, 1899               Ther.

Drew in one load of hay.  Worked all day raking and opening up hay.  In eve went to the burg + got the mail, some oil + a pair of overalls.  Got a letter from Verna White.


 

(Aged 18)
Wea.                                             FRI. JUNE 29, 1900                 Ther.

Pa + I went to the burg got my bicycle.  cost $16.  Acme Prince Sears, Roebuck + Co.  Rode it up to Frank Warn’s stayed all night with him.

(Aged 19)
Wea.                                              SAT. JUNE 29, 1901                Ther.

Worked on bridge + cultivated. In eve Andrew + his family were down.


(Aged 20)
Wea.                                               SUN.  JUNE 29, 1902                Ther.

Stayed at home all day.  Rained all day.

NO ENTRY AGAIN UNTIL OCTOBER 10th.

Editor's Note: At some point I really need to count up the bikes and brands of bikes Allen has gone through because it seems like he gets a new one every other month.  The link on the Acme Prince bike is to someone's personal photograph that is there for all to see.  Also, I think Allen had a reputation of being a bike man because the man with the broken wheel knew to turn up at Allen's door for a repair.
