Went to school.


(Aged 16)
Wea.                                            SUN. MAY 1, 1898               Ther.

Went to church on my wheel came back across the flats.  In eve rode my wheel to church + coming home I broke the shaft between our house + the watering trough.  Went home with Ella Mackey.


(Aged 17)

Wea.                                             MON. MAY 1, 1899               Ther.

Rode my wheel to school it rained and I left my wheel there and rode home with ma who was down after a hat.

Wea.                                              TUE. MAY 1, 1900                 Ther.

Painted on the house rode down with Mearle Cowan when he went with the mail + got a new paint brush.  Took a picture of the Peter Brant cow.

NO ENTRY AGAIN UNTIL MAY 22nd


(Aged 20)
Wea.                                               THU.  MAY 1, 1902             Ther.

Fixed fence.  Bot six cows + 4 calves of Mrs. Page for $225.

Wea.                                              FRI.  MAY 1, 1903                  Ther.

Sowed oats.  Sold my bicycle to Leon Page for $17.00 to be paid within a year.

Editor's Note:  I’m worried that in 1903, the selling of his bike to Leon Page might be an end of an era for Allen.  Alice is pregnant and has just over a month to go before their second child Dorothy is born.  The fancies of their youth are most definitely being replaced by different priorities.  Family is their main focus now.  I think it is accidentally touching Allen “sowed his oats” just prior to the selling of the bike.
