A Day in the Life: April 15th



(Aged 14)
Wea.   Hot                                    WED. APRIL 15, 1896               Ther.  70

Went to school.  Bert Rolweg has began to build the barn.  In the evening Chas Wygrene + Frank Kineston were here to have some papers made out.  Mrs. Bingham + Frank Peterson were here.

Wea.                                             FRI. APRIL 15, 1898               Ther.

Went to school rode down with Monroe Bragg + back with Frank Warn.  Played football.  In eve Ma + I went up the Hollow to the singing school conducted by Mr. Parker, his wife + an assistant. Tuition $1.00 each.



(Aged 17)
Wea.                                             SAT. APRIL 15, 1899               Ther.

Worked all day moving fence down on the Webster place.


(Aged 18)
Wea.                                              SUN. APRIL 15, 1900                 Ther.

Stayed at home in A.M.  Pa went to the factory.  In P.M. went up to Ivory to S.S. Bess Traver gave me her picture.  In eve Alice and I went to church came home over Oak Hill.



(Aged 19)
Wea.                                              MON. APRIL 15, 1901                Ther.

NO ENTRY AGAIN UNTIL MAY 22nd


(Aged 20)
Wea.                                               TUE.  APRIL 15, 1902             Ther.

Went to factory + had Bill shod.  Traded gun for watch,  pair of gloves + $2.25 with Arnie Shaw.  Traded watch to Gail North for gun + .25  Took cow down to Lawson.  Black cow came in heifer.

Wea.                                              WED.  APRIL 15, 1903                  Ther.

NO ENTRY MADE AGAIN UNTIL MAY 1st

Editor's Note: I always loved the barn pictured above or maybe more the "Chew Mail Pouch" sign.   When I saw this sign I knew I was just a minute away from hearing the car tires crunching on the stones in my Grandma's driveway and the comforting squeak and slam of her screen door as she, beaming like a light house, came out to greet us.
