A Day in the Life: November 27th


(Aged 15)
Wea.                                            FRI. NOV. 27, 1896               Ther. 

Ed Harrington brought us down a turkey to give us for Thanksgiving but ma gave him cloth for a dress for Florence.  We had the chicken killed + are going to keep the turkey for Christmas.  All this was yesterday.  (Today) Stayed at home.

Wea.                                            SUN. NOV. 27, 1898               Ther.

Stayed at home in A.M. In P.M. Ma, Rollie + I went up the Hollow to Sunday School + church.


(Aged 18)
Wea.                                             MON. NOV. 27, 1899               Ther.

Left Graham’s and went up to Mr. Lord’s.  In P.M. got two school houses and billed them.


(Aged 19)
Wea.                                              TUE. NOV. 27, 1900                 Ther.

Went to Jamestown with Ma.  Got the ring.  Got an overcoat.  Went up to Alice’s in the evening.  Ring cost $11  Overcoat $9.  XX


(Aged 20)
Wea.                                              WED. NOV. 27, 1901                Ther.

Worked changing the stable.  Brought the horses down to the horse barn.

Wea.                                               THU.  NOV. 27, 1902             Ther.

We all went over to Pa’s to dinner.  Andrew + folks were down.  First snow storm that mounted to anything.

Editor's Note:
It was very neighborly of Ed Harrington to give the Cass Family a Thanksgiving Turkey.  I don't know if Allen was trying to qualify the generosity when he implies it was swapsies for the fabric.  Whatever, it was nice and Christmas is covered now.

In 1899 it seems as though the boys are still trying to make a go of their magic lantern show after a week's vacation.
