Editor's Note: Can't guess who Nellie Shaw was or why she'd stay for 3 weeks--that brings her practically right up to Christmas.  Shaw is a local name with Ernie, Arnie and Tom having turned up before but I still can't find Nellie.

In 1899, the Misses Hutchingson seemed to make a favorable impression.  My guess is pretty and witty.  He wanted to remember them for some reason.

Florence Harrington was Ed Harrington's daughter who was mentioned the other day in relation to fabric Nora gave to Ed to have a dress made for her when he gave the Cass family a turkey.   Florence must have been friends with Ruth Warn who was also 15 at the time of their sleep over at Allen and Alice's house.

  1. Nellie Shaw was the daughter of Thomas Shaw and Flora Coe. Flora was a local girl, daughter of Miles Coe of Poland Twp. Nellie’s parents broke up in about 1896, and she was later adopted by John Rhodes and his wife, who had no children. The other children ended up with various relatives or friends. This is part of a much longer story than I can tell you here.

    1. Thank you so much for the update! I always love when the picture grows though Nellie's circumstance seems very sad.
