A Day in the Life: August 14th


(Aged 14)
Wea.                                            FRI. AUG. 14, 1896               Ther. 

Went hunting down creek in A.M.  In P.M. hunting up creek seen 3 ducks.  Carson + Yale wanted to come home but I got them to stay all night.

Wea.                                            SUN. AUG. 14, 1898               Ther.

Stayed at home all day.  Went to the factory.


(Aged 17)
Wea.                                             MON. AUG. 14, 1899               Ther.

Couldn’t find any work in Dunkirk so came back to Jamestown.  Couldn’t find any work there. Stayed all night with Irving Luce.

Wea.                                              TUE. AUG. 14, 1900                 Ther.

Worked all day cutting brush.  In eve wrote a letter to Alice.


(Aged 19)
Wea.                                              WED. AUG. 14, 1901                Ther.

Went to Warn reunion at Stockholm.  Had a good time.  In eve we went to the theater at Celeron.


(Aged 20)
Wea.                                               THU.  AUG. 14, 1902             Ther.

Took off 7 calves got $91 for them.  Paid Sterling Delfoe up + sent him home.

NO ENTRY AGAIN UNTIL OCTOBER 10TH

Editor's Note: It is curious Allen went first to Dunkirk where he most likely had no ties or network of friends to get him started because like the snap of a rubber band he is right back in his comfort zone albeit the edge of it.  Whoever Irving Luce is, Allen did not hesitate to head for his door.  I can't find Irving in the Census.
