A Day in the Life: August 27th


(Aged 14)

Wea.                                            THU. AUG. 27, 1896               Ther.

Pa + Ma went to Frewsburg.  I went over to grandma’s about 4 o’clock.


(Aged 16)

Wea.                                            SAT. AUG. 27, 1898                 Ther.

Went up to the store + played croquette.  My boil is easier.


(Aged 17)
Wea.                                             SUN. AUG. 27, 1899                 Ther.

Stayed in the rooms all day.  In the eve went out with Kate + Maud Tyler.


(Aged 18)
Wea.                                              MON. AUG. 27, 1900               Ther.

Drew manure all day.  In eve went up to Gene Littlefield’s to a wedding anniversary.  I made the presentation speach (sic).  The present was a set of dishes.  I took Alice home.


(Aged 19)
Wea.                                              TUE. AUG. 27, 1901                Ther.

Worked both teams all day.


(Aged 20)

Wea.                                               WED.  AUG. 27, 1902             Ther.

Thrashed.  Had 246 bu of oats.

NO ENTRY AGAIN UNTIL OCTOBER 10th

Editor's Note:  It looks like Eugene and Ena Littlefield were celebrating 10 years of marriage in 1900 with their children Hobert and Eva.  I don't know why Allen would have been selected to give the presentation.  He is 20 years younger than the Littlefields and about a decade older than their oldest child.  What I like about this is that it clearly was a community celebration.
