A Day in the Life: August 3rd


(Aged 14)
Wea.                                           MON. AUG. 3, 1896               Ther. 

Pa + Ma went to Jamestown + stopped to see Aunt Em.  Rollie + I stayed home.  I traded hats with Fred Slater.  I helped Devillo saw wood from 3 to 5:30 P.M. and he is going to make ma a ax handle.  Fred Slater + Devillo sawed wood all day.



(Aged 16)
Wea.                                            WED. AUG. 3, 1898               Ther.

Went to factory.  Worked 1/2 day.  Ma Rollie + grandma went to Jamestown.  Rained awful hard in the P.M.



(Aged 17)
Wea.                                             THU. AUG. 3, 1899               Ther.

Pa, Ma + Rollie went to Corydon.  Mearle Cowan + I went bee hunting found two trees both on ours.  In eve went over to see Stella Thayer but as she wasn’t at home I came back.


(Aged 18)
Wea.                                             FRI. AUG. 3, 1900                 Ther.

Pa, Ma + Rollie went to Celoron.  I finished pictures.  In eve Alice came down on a wheel and we took a ride.  Got home at 11 o’clock.



(Aged 19)
Wea.                                              SAT. AUG. 3, 1901                Ther.

Went to factory.  Frank went to Celeron.  In P.M. Will went to the ball play.


(Aged 20)
Wea.                                               SUN.  AUG. 3, 1902                Ther.

Pa, Ma + Rollie came over.  In eve Alice, Willard + I took a ride.



(Aged 21)
Wea.                                              MON.  AUG. 3, 1903                  Ther.


NO ENTRY AGAIN UNTIL OCTOBER 10th.

Editor's Note:  I am so pleased Alice had access to a wheel and did not hesitate to use it to get to Allen.  She must have looked wonderful with her skirt hitched up and her curls all windswept.  I wonder if the ride they took was in a buggy or on their bikes. 

August 3rd seems to have been a good day to go to Jamestown and Celeron.
