A Day in the Life: August 4th

(Aged 14)
Wea.                                          TUE. AUG. 4, 1896               Ther.

Ma went to see Aunt Em.  I stayed home.  In evening I went to school meeting.


(Aged 16)
Wea.                                          THU. AUG. 4, 1898               Ther.

Went to factory.  Rained all the A.M. stayed at home all day.


(Aged 17)
Wea.                                           FRI. AUG. 4, 1899               Ther.

Worked on the road all day for grandma.  In eve Pa, Ma+ Rollie came.  Pa bought a steer of Asa for $18.


(Aged 18)
Wea.                                           SAT. AUG. 4, 1900                 Ther.

Stayed about the house in the A.M.  In P.M. went to the ball play


(Aged 19)
Wea.                                            SUN. AUG. 4, 1901                Ther.

Stayed at home all day.  Ma + Rollie came over after S.S.


(Aged 20)
Wea.                                             MON.  AUG. 4, 1902             Ther.

Hayed it.  Got in one load.


(Aged 21)
Wea.                                              TUE.  AUG. 4, 1903                  Ther.


NO ENTRY AGAIN UNTIL OCTOBER 10th

Editor's Note: Allen is mostly around the house on August 4th.  It is odd how days tend to fall into a pattern.  I wonder what the family discussions were like over Aunt Em.  How horrible the time must have been for them all.  It is clear that Allen was staying well clear of the situation because he never seems to join his ma + pa when they head down to see Em.
