Helped Pa draw one load wood + one load of hay.  Geo. Walters is sick.

In A.M. Erd + I went up to Maxwells to see them boil sap.  In P.M. went to the burg + up the Hollow to the store.  In eve Joel Harrington + Mr. George were over.  Bert Bingham came over to stay with me.

Wea.                                               FRI. MARCH 10, 1899                Ther. 

Drove to school.  After I got home + done my chores.  Randsom + I went up + tapped 20 trees. The sap runs good, guess we will boil tomorrow.

Chas Wygrene took 30 sheep down on the Webster Place today to keep one year for 1/2 wool + increase.

Went to Jamestown to try Civil Service examination but it is not held till next Sat.
Ed Harrington has tapped his sugar bush.

NO ENTRY AGAIN UNTIL MAY 22nd.


(Aged 20)
Wea.                                              MON.  MARCH 10, 1902                Ther.

Drew 6 loads of manure.  Pearl came down.

NO ENTRY MADE AGAIN UNTIL MAY 1st

Editor's Note: Curious as to Allen's long term plans regarding the Civil Service test.  It is my guess that the two years Allen is on hiatus from March - May has something to do with the farming busy season.
