Went to school. LaVern Wheeler’s folks were here visiting.

Went to school. After school I.B. (Irma Bunce?) came home with me + ate supper here about 6.15 oclock we started for the social over at Nettie Hunt’s at Mud Creek had a fine time there was about 30 there. Got home at 3:15 A.M.

Went to factory. Then went up to Unkle Gib’s to see how they were. They are all well.
Glen and I went hunting but didn’t kill anything but started one rabbit.
Pa, Geo + Chas cut brush on the Webster place.

Wea. SUN. JAN. 21, 1900 Ther.
Stayed at home in the A.M. In P.M. went up to Ivory to S.S.
In eve went to the burg with Leon Page. Went home with Mattie Cowan.

Finished the harness and did chores in the A.M. In P.M. hired Frank Warn to cut bolts. I also fixed the bobsleds and pounded irons in the evening

Ray drew the lumber on to town had on 1535 ft. I did chores. In eve Pa + Lawrence were over.

Took our new pigs over to pa’s and killed them with four of his. Frank Kinneston + Dave helped me. I also did his chores.
I went up to John Smedley’s. He gave me $10.

Stayed at home all day.
Editor's Note: There are plenty of Wheelers about Carroll at this point but I can't find one Laverne. Irma Bunce and Allen are clearly stepping out at this age but I just found out something really sweet. Frank Warn, who always gets a mention from Allen actually goes on to marry Irma Bunce. (Remember the double date to the theatre?). Also, Frank is Alice's cousin.
Again, Unkle Gib is Gilbert Eccles and Glen is Allen's cousin. I must hurry with the name index and also figure out what "cutting bolts" refers to because it is a common task.
