Alverna Mainwaring Bests her Would- Be Abductor

I found this article about four years ago when I searched  Frewsburg in the New York Times archives. Lo and behold. A story I had NEVER heard of. And I believe that Cash should be Cass. So that would mean the house belonging to Willard and Florence Cass at 2 Frew Run would it not? Does anyone in Frewsburg know this story and what the outcome was? It is very hard to believe that such a beautiful little hamlet had something like this happen. At least there was a happy ending. But who was the man and did he go to jail?
