A Day in the Life: June 3rd

Went to school. 


(Aged 16)
Wea.                                             FRI. JUNE 3, 1898               Ther.

Went to factory.  In P.M. went to the burg + got me a new hat + some oil of Annis (Anise) then went fishing caught a sucker + rock bass down to the big creek.

(Aged 17)
Wea.                                             SAT. JUNE 3, 1899               Ther.

Worked all day.  In A.M. cut brush down in front of Smith’s .  In P.M. fixed the fence around the sugar bush and cleaned out the barn.  In P.M. Ma, Pa + Rollie went to the burg.  There was a meeting of trustees of the Baptist Church.


(Aged 18)
Wea.                                              SUN. JUNE 3, 1900                 Ther.

Stayed at home and slept.  In eve took a ride with Alice Warn.  Got home at 1 A.M. she goes to town to work tomorrow.

Wea.                                              MON. JUNE 3, 1901                Ther.

Drew stone + planted potatoes.


(Aged 20)
Wea.                                               TUE.  JUNE 3, 1902             Ther.

Put in the rest of the garden.  Went up to C Taylors + I got a calf .75 cents.  Put the stove in wood shed.


(Aged 21)
Wea.                                              WED.  JUNE 3, 1903                  Ther.

Went up on Oak Hill with the meat wagon.

Editor's Note:  Alice going to work up in Jamestown was in part her father Anders (Andrew) Warn's attempt to separate her from Allen.  As you may recall, Anders did not think Allen a suitable match for his "frail" Alice.


Way at the bottom of the Wiki article on Anise I see that it is used to lure fish.  Otherwise I couldn't account for Allen's need of it unless it was to freshen his breath.  His spelling of the word is unfortunate.
