(Aged 14)
Wea.  Very cold + windy           FRI. MARCH 20, 1896                    Ther.

Went to school saw one snow drift that was 7 ft straight up.

Wea.   Sunny                              SUN. MARCH 20, 1898                    Ther. 40

Went over to grandma’s.  Luella is there.   Ma + Rollie went up the hollow to S.S.  In evening went to church.  There was church only at the Methodist it was a memorial service in honor of Mrs. Williams the pres. of the WCTU.

Stayed at home all day boiled sap some but not much as it was so cold + snowy.

Wea.                                              TUE. MARCH 20, 1900                  Ther.

Rode to school with Gordon.  Finished tapping sugar bush. Got a letter from Mabel White + Fred Witmore.  Stayed all night with Erd White went over to Rosa Howard’s + played pedro.  So did Andrew B. (Ha. Ha.)

Editor's Note: I have not figured out why Allen prefers the church in the burg v. Sunday School in Ivory with his family.  I suppose it is all about "seeing and being seen" and feeling independent.  However, I can just imagine his disappointment in having his plans pious (or otherwise) disrupted by the passing of poor Mrs. Williams.
