Editor's Note:
Grandma Mason is not a relative.  I believe Mrs. Mason to be a very close friend of the family that is all since this is the first she is referred to as "grandma" and Allen is at his youngest in his diaries.  ADDENDUM:  I just unearthed some documents that suggest otherwise so TBC...

Also a NOTE BENE  I may have incorrectly suggested Lone Pine as the house Allen grew up in when in fact that is where he raised his family including my grandmother Mabel.  During the early diaries Allen was living in Valley Gate Farm built by his father Frank as seen here:

  1. Great post Jenny. Allen and Alice's marital home was Lone Pine. I don't know with what money they bought it. The barn and fields from Valley Gate belong to Uncle Rollie as late as 1975 from what I understand. That's why we got to ride the horses there. The people were leasing the land from Uncle Rollie. Phyllis would know for sure.
