Got up at 7.10.  Pa took a grist to the burg.  Ma, Rollie + I went to Jamestown.  Rollie + I had our pictures taken.  Rained all day in P.M. it turned to snow.  The wind blew the roof off the barn down on the Webster place + it fell in on a cow + hurt her.  Don’t know whether she will live or not.
While we were at town the water rose and was about 2 ft over the road when we came home.

Rollie and big brother Allen as photographed that morning in Jamestown.

Editor's Note:
Could they be any cuter?  Really, that photo is one of my very favorites.  I love how they care about each other despite the 10 years between them.  I don't know why there is such a difference in age.  I don't know of any losses to the family but perhaps Nora just had a hard time conceiving.

Also love the wording "helped Percy Johnson a long a little..."

And it is curtains for Mattie Cowan's hopes and dreams of keeping her monogram through the Cass route.  Alice is firmly in Allen's heart.
