Editor's Note:
I love how Allen turns a phrase.  I'm sure he meant "older" girls his own age when he says "no large girls" were there.  I think he turned Allie Smedley down the other day because she was younger than him by three years.

Too bad he mentions no wooing of his own Alice in 1900.  Clearly, he was more concerned with getting the more palatable science class.

Why didn't Allen go to Clarence LOVE'S Valentine's party?  It sounds like Allen could have had either girl and if anyone could throw a good Valentine's party wouldn't it be someone named Love?

Oh, and I'm beginning to think when Allen says he "had a cow come in" he means it like the delivery of an order as in "We just had a shipment of tomato seeds come in".  Otherwise he is just collecting stray cows from neighboring farms which is not really likely.  No such thing as bovine finders-keepers I suspect.

  1. I have to say that I don't find Allen big on the romance department. He is disappointing me tremendously in that he even dares to talk about hauling manure on the 14th of February. It, is a hard, cold, world out there. Can't believe the man fathered 7 children. OOOPS. Spoiler Alert.
