NO ENTRY MADE

***********

Editor's Note:  "Remember the Maine" was the cry that fanned the flames of the Spanish American War but The Battleship Maine's destruction may have just been a terrible accident and not the supposed result of an enemy mine.  Whatever the truth, the event was no less tragic.

On a different matter altogether,  I just don't understand what Allen is doing driving Bessie Traver around until 3 A.M. when he is stepping out with Alice.  Boys.

Comments

  1. As my husband tells his eldest daughter: Men are dogs. Boys are puppies. I am sure Allen told his daughters the same thing. As far as Remember the Maine, when I had possession of the diaries I remember reading this entry in 1991 and thinking that "Wow, they didn't have CNN back in the days." Look how times have changed in the 20 years since I first read this entry. I would prefer some slow news days if you get me (snow) drift.
