A Day in the Life: February 22nd
(Aged 14)
Wea. Clear SAT. FEB. 22, 1896 Ther.
Helped Geo. Walters draw a load of hay. Frankie Kineston was here in the evening.

Wea. Cloudy TUE. FEB. 22, 1898 Ther. 34
Went down on the Webster Place + cut fence posts. Worked all day. In evening we up the Hollow to the store + Ed Harrington came down.
The roads are very muddy. Some people have tapped their sugar bushes.

Wea. WED. FEB. 22, 1899 Ther.
In A.M. cleaned out the barn. In P.M. stayed at home till about 5 o’clock then went over to grandma’s + from there up the hollow to the King’s Sons + Daughters’ meeting. Aunt Ada, Aunt May + Luella were over to grandma’s.
Frank Warn wrote a letter to Bessie Traver + I am to give it to her tomorrow.
He is going to take her to the entertainment Friday eve + I will take Irma, I guess.

Stayed at home and worked in A.M. In P.M. went over to grandma’s. There was a ladies missionary meeting in the afternoon at our place.
Pa divided Pages stuff. Gordon Taylor stayed all night with me.

Wea. FRI. FEB. 22, 1901 Ther.
Frankie Devillo + I cut logs and bolts all day. Ma + Alice went to the burg in the P.M.
(Aged 20)
Wea. SAT. FEB. 22, 1902 Ther.
Gail + Lawrence cut wood. I went to factory + split wood. In eve Chas. Wygren + Will Peterson came down. Alice’s mother came down.

Editor's Note: It is clear farm kids go to school as and when depending on the needs of the season. For 3 years in a row, Allen doesn't go to school on this day though he is still school-aged he seems to have much work to do on the various properties.
The G.W letter from yesterday could always be Geo Walters though I'm not sure why other than my initial thought.
And, is it just me or do Frank Warn and Allen keep swapping girls? Frankly, I don't like how Allen "settles" on Irma as his date. I guess that post valentine party really didn't work out for him.
