A Day in the Life: June 8th

Wea. rainy MON. JUNE 8, 1896 Ther.
In evening Ma + I went down to Commencement Exercises.

Wea. WED. JUNE 8, 1898 Ther.
Went to factory. Ma + Grandma went to see Mrs. Mason.
(Aged 17)
Wea. THU. JUNE 8, 1899 Ther.
Rode my wheel to school. Ma took her dress back as she didn’t like it. In eve went over to grandma’s + up to M.C. Grout’s to see Frank Warn then we went over to Harrington’s dam in swimming.

Wea. FRI. JUNE 8, 1900 Ther.
Drew blockings and finished off some pictures in A.M. In P.M. watched them raise the barn.
(Aged 19)
Wea. SAT. JUNE 8, 1901 Ther.
Alice + I went to Corydon had a good visit.

Wea. SUN. JUNE 8, 1902 Ther.
Gail went to factory. I washed off Min’s mouth + greased it.

Went over Emery Hill.
Editor's Note: Alice and Allen would have been visiting Asa and Effie Reeves in Corydon--the Stryker side of the family.
I'm not sure why there were only girls in Gram's graduating class.

Jenny who is Min? There were no eligible boys Gram's age. Makes one realize that to even obtain a high school diploma in 1924 was extremely rare. Most young men were already hard at work and no one was going off to college.
